Summer 2025 - Concerts
Celebrating VOCES8 at 20!
“Congratulations VOCES8 on the 20th anniversary of your founding. It’s been an enormous pleasure discovering and listening to that ethereal blend of voices that is so distinctively VOCES8. It was an honor to collaborate with you on my own music. I hope you will continue, in the years to come, to give the world the beauty, serenity and luminous sound that has been the hallmark of your first 20 years”.
– Paul Simon
This summer, LIVE From London returns with a spectacular celebration marking the 20th anniversary of VOCES8. The festival features eight exceptional concerts, shining a spotlight on both established and emerging talent.
Marking twenty years since its first concert VOCES8 presents a major concert at London’s iconic Barbican Hall featuring guest performances by the BBC Singers, the VOCES8 Scholars, violinist Jack Liebeck and beloved VOCES8 alumni.
We’re delighted to welcome Lyyra to LIVE From London for the first time, fresh from their growing concert successes in the USA and Europe and with a major record deal with Warner Classics.
A highlight of the festival is a concert given by the UK VOCES8 Scholars and VOCES8 at Milton Abbey. They give the world premiere of Peter Gritton’s Requiem alongside James Macmillan’s moving Miserere and Palestrina’s majestic Missa Papae Marcelli.
We are thrilled to introduce Meridian, an exciting new choir under the direction of Irene Messoloras. In their debut performance, Meridian feature celebrated soprano Grace Davidson and pianist-composer Ola Gjeilo – VOCES8’s first-ever composer-in-residence.
A key element of the VOCES8 Foundation is its record label and we are delighted that no fewer than four artists' albums are showcased in concerts. These include Anam: Music to Move the Soul by Apollo5, Revolutions by Paul Smith, Le vase brisé by founding VOCES8 member Thomas Elwin with pianist Lana Bode, and Ciels d’or by Trio Haydée.
Release Schedule
All concerts apart from the the two recorded at Milton Abbey (“VOCES8 & VOCES8 Scholars” and “Paul Smith”) will be released on 9th August. The remainder will be released on Monday 18th August.
