LIVE From London Christmas 2020 Trailer

Brought straight to your hearts and homes by the VOCES8 Foundation, LIVE From London  Christmas 2020 presented a sackful of musical treats to grace your screens for the holiday season.  Featuring a starry line-up from the UK, the US and across Europe, the festival also supported the VOCES8 Foundation’s global message of music education for all by gifting young performers from across the world a stage for their singing.

The internationally renowned line-up included hosts VOCES8, with vocal groups The Tallis Scholars, Take 6, I Fagiolini, The Choir of Westminster Abbey, London Adventist Chorale, ANÚNAamarcord, The Aeolians, and Apollo5. Soloists in the series included baroque violinist Rachel Podger and baritone Roderick Williams; Roderick also appeared in Bach For Christmas.

The Gabrieli Consort & Players directed by Paul McCreesh present a stunning line-up of soloists in Bach For Christmas filmed at St John’s Smith Square, London. The six Christmas Oratorio cantatas, were each broadcast on the day for which they were liturgically written.

Including six new commissions from Ken Burton, Melissa Dunphy, Jocelyn Hagen, Taylor Scott Davis, Paul Smith, Roderick Williams, and repertoire ranging from Bach, Praetorius, Eccard, Charpentier and Tallis, to Howells, Britten, Michael McGlynn, Alec Roth, Arvo Pärt, John Tavener, Ola Gjeilo all filmed in ultra high definition and featuring your favourite seasonal a cappella -  Live From London was ‘all you would want for Christmas’.
