Celebrate Christmas with the unmistakable sound of Salvation Army brass as members of the International Staff Band join forces with members of the VOCES8 Scholars for a programme filled with festive warmth, reflection and joy.

Under Bandmaster Jonathan Evans, the programme brings together a rich selection of Christmas music for brass, from the jubilant Joy to the World to the tenderness of Gabriel's Message, Mary Walks Amid the Thorn and Mid Winter. Alongside works by Martin Cordner, Kenneth Downie, William Himes and others, familiar melodies and contemporary Salvation Army repertoire reveal the remarkable colour, power and intimacy of the brass tradition.

Members of the VOCES8 Scholars add their voices to some of Christmas's best-loved carols, joining a brass quintet for O Come, All Ye Faithful, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing and O Little Town of Bethlehem. With moments of quiet reflection alongside the sparkle of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Joy to the World celebrates a musical tradition in which community and Christmas have always gone hand in hand.
