Join the Meridian Choir and conductor Irene Messoloras for a programme that moves between winter stillness and joyful proclamation, bringing fresh colour to familiar carols alongside some of the most distinctive choral writing of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

Familiar melodies including In Dulci Jubilo, The Holly and the Ivy, Away in a Manger and the exhilarating Carol of the Bells sit alongside the spare beauty of Stravinsky's Ave Maria and the gentle intimacy of Warlock's Lullaby My Jesus. Contemporary choral writing brings further colour to the programme, with music by Ola Gjeilo and Lucy Walker's There is No Rose.

From hushed lullabies and moments of contemplation to carols bursting with energy, A Meridian Christmas explores the contrasts at the heart of the season through the expressive sound of voices singing together.
